Phoenix Suns fans are going to break out the “Suns in Four” chants tonight as the team takes on the Denver Nuggets in a rematch of last year’s Western Conference semifinals.

Phoenix swept Denver in the postseason in the 2020-21 campaign, and it is looking to start this season off on the right foot after making the NBA Finals last season.

WynnBET has the Suns as six-point favorites at home with the total set at 224.5 points.

I’m always down to look into some player props for these matchups, so here are three I have my eye on in Nuggets-Suns:

Best Prop Bets for Nuggets vs. Suns

  • Michael Porter Jr. OVER 20.5 Points (+100)
  • DeAndre Ayton to Record a Double-Double (-105)
  • Mikal Bridges OVER 1.5 3’s Made (-110)

Michael Porter Jr. OVER 20.5 Points (+100)

Michael Porter Jr. ended the 2020-21 season on a bit of a tear in the regular season, scoring 23 or more points in seven of his final 11 games. Two of those games he played limited minutes since Denver had already locked up a playoff spot, so MPJ actually went over this number in seven of nine games before the final two of the regular season.

Porter Jr. is going to have a bigger role with Jamal Murray still out with a torn ACL, and I like him at +100 to handle a major scoring load in this game.

DeAndre Ayton to Record a Double-Double (-105)

Ayton was a double-double machine in the playoffs last season, and he had three such games against Denver in the West semis.

The Suns are going to keep the big man involved, especially since Nikola Jokic isn’t the best defender at the position, and I think he builds on last season’s success where he averaged 14.4 points and 10.5 rebounds a night.

Mikal Bridges OVER 1.5 3’s Made (-110)

Bridges just signed a four-year, $90 million extension with the Suns, and he’s going to be a crucial part of their team going forward.

Last season Bridges shot 42.5 percent from beyond the arc and made 1.9 3-pointers per game on 4.4 attempts a night.

Phoenix is hoping Bridges continues to grow as a scorer and player after committing to him long term, and it’s worth noting that he finished the regular season with multiple 3-pointers made in 10 of his last 12 games in the 2020-21 campaign.
