The New Orleans Saints playoff hopes are on life support, but a win today against the Carolina Panthers will keep them alive heading into the final week of the season.

The Saints are currently set as 6.5-point home favorites and the total is set at a low mark of 37 points, so expect a defensive battle in this NFC South showdown.

Let's take a look at my three favorite player prop bets for today's game, with all odds courtesy of WynnBET.

Best Prop Bets for Panthers vs. Saints

  • DJ Moore Anytime TD +250
  • Taysom Hill UNDER 188.5 Passing Yards -115
  • Alvin Kamara OVER 65.5 Rushing Yards -125

DJ Moore Anytime TD +250

Betting on any receiver to score a touchdown is a tough pill to swallow when it's Sam Darnold throwing him the football, but DJ Moore remains the Panthers top option in the passing game, having been targeted at least 10 times in four straight games.

The Saints have the number one run defense in the NFL, but they're vulnerable in their secondary. They're 16th in opponent yards per pass attempt, so I love the value at +250 for the Panthers top receiver to find the end zone.

Taysom Hill UNDER 188.5 Passing Yards -115

Taysom Hill isn't known to get a lot of yards through the air, as he's only surpassed this total once in his last three starts, and now he's facing one of the top secondaries in the NFL in the Panthers. Carolina ranks fifth in opponent yards per pass attempt, limiting opponents to an average of 6.1 yards per pass.

If the Saints want to move the ball, their best bet is to run the football. Both with Hill and running back Alvin Kamara.

Alvin Kamara OVER 65.5 Rushing Yards -125

As I just mentioned, the Saints will need to run the football to find success in this game. The Panthers weakness is their run defense, as they allow an average of 4.2 yards per carry. Not only that, but if the Saints (-6.5) get up to a big lead, they'll likely turn to the running game to waste as much time as possible. Expect a big game on the ground from Kamara.
