The Divisional round is here, and it’s always the best round of the baseball playoffs. I love the new Wild Card format, but nothing beats the DS for gambling.

There’s just enough games to pick from and you get the absolute best teams to watch every night. It’s the perfect dose of playoff baseball bets, and that includes props. With four games a night we can load up on props and easily track them all. I’ve got my three best for Game 1 between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves, so let’s go!

Best Prop Bets for Phillies vs. Braves

  • Alec Bohm Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140)
  • Max Fried Over 5.5 Total Strikeouts (+128)
  • William Contreras Over 0.5 Home Runs (+600)

Alec Bohm Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140)

Bohm has hit lefties well all year and maybe the best of any player in the Phillies lineup. Rhys Hoskins is the only player that gives him a run for his money. Bohm has a .935 OPS against left-handers and his .541 slug only comes with three home runs.

How he does it typically is doubles, he has 17 against left-handed pitchers this season. I’m going a little safer and betting over 1.5 total bases in case that double turns into a triple or finds its way over the wall, but you can find some books that have over 0.5 doubles at around four to one odds.

Max Fried Over 5.5 Total Strikeouts (+128)

Fried has faced the Phillies four times this year and twice he’s gone over this total and twice he’s gone under, but everytime he has pitched well and gone at least six innings. That will give him a chance against a Philly offense that didn’t play particularly well against St. Louis. Fried has a 91st percentile chase rate, so he will get some swing and miss out of the zone and I love getting this at plus odds.

William Contreras Over 0.5 Home Runs (+600)

Contreras was an all-star this year, but he is still somewhat of the forgotten guy in this great Atlanta lineup. He shouldn’t be, because he has a 1.036 OPS against lefties like Ranger Suarez this year and a .596 slug that screams more than just five home runs.

His expected slugging and barrel rate are both in the top 10% of the league and his exit velocity is 97th percentile. I think he’ll get ahold of one tonight.
