The Houston Astros are in full control of the ALDS against the Chicago White Sox, and are the only team in the playoffs that holds a 2-0 lead.

The Astros can finish off the White Sox with a win tonight, and secure their berth in the ALCS against the winner of the other series between the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays.

If you’re a true sports bettor, you’ll have Game 3 on one screen tonight, and Sunday Night Football on the other. And just like Sunday Night Football, we have prop bets to break down for tonight’s ALDS matchup.

All odds listed are via WynnBET Sportsbook.

Dylan Cease OVER 4.5 Strikeouts -150

The odds are juiced pretty heavily at -150, but if you don’t mind laying those odds, this is a fantastic bet to make. I’m not too sure where oddsmakers came up with this number, but you should jump on it as soon as possible before there’s any kind of movement.

The last time that Cease had a start in which he threw fewer than five strikeouts was on June 17. I will say that coincidentally that start came against this Astros team, but the point still stands. He has had 18 consecutive starts in which he’s recorded at least five strikeouts.

If him doing it for a 19th straight start isn’t a value bet, than I don’t know what is.

Astros OVER 4 Runs -105

No team in professional baseball has scored as many runs this season as the Astros. They lead the majors in runs per game at 5.35. They’ve continued that momentum into the playoffs as they’ve scored a combined 15 runs through the first two games against the White Sox.

Now they face a pitcher that they’ve already lit up twice in the regular season. Cease has given up nine earn runs in nine innings against the Astros in 2021, and now he’ll face them with their season on the line.

There’s no reason to believe the Astros won’t score a handful of runs today, I’ll take the over four at -105.

Carlos Correa to Score a Run +155

Correa has been fantastic in the postseason in his career, and he’s continued that this season. He holds a .500 batting average in three of the last four playoff series he’s competed in, and he already has three hits and two runs so far in the ALDS.

Given how much the Astros have gotten to Cease the two times they faced him this season, you can bank on the Astros scoring some runs today. With Correa’s postseason history, I’m willing to bet on him being one of the top contributors in Game 3.
