3 Best Props for Astros vs. Red Sox ALCS Game 4
If you haven’t been watching the MLB playoffs, you’ve been missing out on some absolutely electric baseball.
The Boston Red Sox hold the 2-1 series lead over the Houston Astros heading into today’s Game 4, and you can bank on tonight’s game being another must-watch event. And if you’re going to watch it, you might as well bet on it.
If you’re looking for a full breakdown of the odds and a prediction for the game, check out our betting preview.
As far as player props go, Here are my three favorites for tonight’s ALCS Game 4. All odds listed are via WynnBET Sportsbook.
Best ALCS Game 4 Astros vs. Red Sox Prop Bets
- Nick Pivetta UNDER 3.5 strikeouts -105
- Kyle Schwarber Home Run +320
- Jose Altuve Home Run +390
Nick Pivetta UNDER 3.5 strikeouts -105
This seems like a wildly low strikeout total to bet the under on, but it’s for good reason. Pivetta is set to face a Houston Astros team that led MLB this season in team strikeout percentage. They only struck out on 19.6% of plate appearances.
Furthermore, two of the three Red Sox starters failed to surpass this number against them this series. Chris Sale only managed to record two strikeouts against the Astros in Game 1, and Nathan Eovaldi only recorded three strikeouts despite pitching 5.1 innings.
It’s a tough bet to make at this low of a number, but I think it’s the right call.
Kyle Schwarber Home Run +320
Schwarber has proved to be an invaluable asset for the Red Sox since being acquired by them at the MLB trade deadline. He’s already recorded three home runs in the playoffs, including a grand slam in last night’s Game 3.
His bat is how right now, and I love the value at +320 for him to hit his fourth dinger of the postseason tonight.
Jose Altuve Home Run +390
Altuve finished the regular season with the second most home runs on the Houston Astros with 31. Only Yordan Alvarez finished with more, totalling 33 on the year. Kyle Tucker finished third on the team in home runs with 30.
Of the three players, Altuve presents the best betting value to hit a home run tonight. Alvarez is listed at +355 and Tucker is listed at +385, so why wouldn’t you take a shot at Altuve at +390? There’s no reason why his odds should be longer than the other two, so give me Altuve to hit a dinger at +390.
