3 Best Props Bets for Broncos vs. Chargers (Back Chargers Through the Air)
The Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos face off in a game where the loser is likely eliminated from playoff contention. The Chargers are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Texans last week that dropped them to 8-7 and currently out of the playoffs while the Broncos lost to the Raiders and are now 7-8.
WynnBET has the Chargers as 8-point home favorites in this game. But if you don't want to bet on the spread, here are some prop bets I like for this afternoon's game.
Best Prop Bets for Broncos vs Chargers
- Justin Herbert Over 1.5 Touchdown Passes (-145)
- Austin Ekeler Over 28.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
- Keenan Allen Anytime TD Scorer (+100)
Justin Herbert Over 1.5 Touchdown Passes (-145)
Although I don't love the -145 odds, this feels like a no-brainer to me, even against one of the best pass defense in the league. Herbert has gone over this total in five of his last six games, including throwing 2 TDs against Denver the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
The Chargers are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Texans last week. I expect a bounce-back game for them at home and from Herbert. He only threw for 1 TD against the Texans last weekend. The last time he was held to 1 TD pass the previous week he threw for 3 the week after. Not sure about 3, but I believe he will get at least 2 in this spot.
Austin Ekeler Over 28.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
This number seems very low to me considering the last time these teams met Ekeler had 68 yards receiving. He's gone over this mark eight times this year and the Broncos, on average, give up 38.3 receiving yards per game to running backs.
In their first game, Herbert threw the ball 44 times. Clearly the Chargers believe their edge is in the passing game and not the rushing game. That should lead to a lot of targets for Ekeler. If that's the case, I like him to go over this mark easily.
Keenan Allen Anytime TD Scorer (+100)
Sticking with the throwing theme, Allen finding the end zone seems like a reasonable idea at even money. Before last week's disappointment against Houston, Allen got double-digit targets in six of the Chargers' previous seven games and had TDs in two straight. I like him to get back on track in this one as the Chargers get back on track as a team.
