3 Bold Predictions for Clippers-Suns Game 3
By Peter Dewey
The Phoenix Suns are looking to take a commanding 3-0 lead on the Los Angeles Clippers tonight, and they will get a boost with Chris Paul expected to return to the lineup.
The Suns are coming into Game 3 as a 1.5-point favorite on WynnBET, but the Clippers have come back from multiple 2-0 series deficits this season.
I’ve already taken a look at Paul’s player prop for points in his return, but there are a few other props for this game that have caught my eye.
Here are my three bold predictions for Game 3 between Los Angeles and Phoenix:
Devin Booker Scores Over 28.5 Points
Count me in on the Devin Booker bounce-back game.
Booker scored 20 points in Game 2, but he shot just 5-for-16 from the field, although he did make all nine of his free throw attempts.
Booker has been great at drawing fouls (7.3 free throw attempts per game in the playoffs) and I think that gives him a solid base on his 28.5-point player prop tonight. WynnBET has this one set as a pick’em at -110 odds.
Booker has scored over 28.5 points in half of his games this postseason, but he’s due for some positive regression with Paul returning. Paul should help Booker get some easier looks, and DBook is due to take some more shots after attempting just 16 in Game 2 (his lowest total in four games).
Nicholas Batum Goes Over 1.5 Assists
Batum, who’s averaged 31.6 minutes per game this postseason, played just over 15 minutes in Game 2 for the Clippers, but I’d expect that to change in Game 3.
Los Angeles has gotten some really solid production out of Batum, and he’s been able to create for his teammates, as he’s tallied multiple assists in 11 of 15 games this postseason.
The Clippers are at their best when they go small, and Batum is a key cog in that lineup. While he didn’t tally an assist in his last game, he had tallied multiple assists in nine of his last 10 contests.
WynnBET has the over (+104) on Batum’s 1.5 assist prop as the underdog tonight. If Ty Lue gives Batum close to 30 minutes, he’s a great bet to set up his teammates a couple of times for easy scores.
Terance Mann Records a Steal
Mann has been a revelation for the Clippers on both ends of the floor since Kawhi Leonard went down with a knee injury. He scored a career-high 39 points in Game 6 against the Utah Jazz to win the series, and he has shot 6-for-9 from the field through the first two games against Phoenix.
While Mann hasn’t kept the scoring up from the 39-point game, he has been consistent as a pest on the defensive end.
Mann has recorded six steals in his last four games, and has tallied at least one steal in all four contests. WynnBET has his steals prop set at 0.5 on Thursday with the over as a +160 underdog.
Mann is playing 27.2 minutes per game since Leonard’s injury, and he has become an integral part of the rotation since the Clippers lack much wing depth after Marcus Morris and Paul George.
At +160 odds, I love Mann’s chances of nabbing one steal in tonight’s contest.
