When the Seattle Seahawks lost Russell Wilson due to a finger injury, all of Seattle faithful out there were filled with obvious concern. But, after Geno Smith’s first start in a Seahawks uniform, his performance was just decent enough to stop the sweating.

Smith completed 23 of 32 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown pass against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football in Week 6. Smith and Seattle still lost the game, but it was competitive enough where the season didn’t feel entirely doomed for the Seahawks.

Smith will be under center in Primetime for the second consecutive week, taking on the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.

Here are three bold predictions for Geno Smith in Saints vs. Seahawks.

Geno Smith Will Throw for 300 Yards

The Saints’ weak point on defense is their secondary. New Orleans has allowed an average of 285.2 passing yards per game, 22nd-ranked in the NFL. They’ve allowed a 300-yard performance to Sam Darnold of the Carolina Panthers and a 400-yard performance from Daniel Jones of the New York Giants.

That’s not great.

Geno Smith is a backup quarterback, but could easily put up “starter”-caliber numbers because of the options he has in the Seahawks passing attack. If Smith can find DK Metcalf or Tyler Lockett in space, they could do a lot of the work for him.

WynnBET Sportsbook has Smith’s passing yards prop set at 204.5 yards (Over -112/Under -110), and should go over that number without difficulty.

Geno Smith Will Throw Two Touchdown Passes

Smith has not thrown two touchdown passes in a game since Nov. 1, 2015, against the Oakland Raiders.

That drought ends tonight.

Seattle can move the ball down the field well and get into the Red Zone; that is where they have found most of their success. The Seahawks are currently the third-best team in the NFL in Red Zone scoring percentage, ending their Red Zone trips in a touchdown 75 percent of the time.

Smith threw a touchdown pass last week against the Steelers; a one-yard pitch to tight end Will Dissly.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

WynnBET Sportsbook has Smith’s passing touchdowns prop set at 1.5 (Over +210/Under -260), with a great value on the over.

Geno Smith Will Pick Up Win for Seattle

The Seahawks are 2-4, and their defense has been awful this season, allowing 306.2 passing yards, 140.8 rushing yards, and 24.8 points per game.

But, Smith will do enough to get the job done on Monday Night.

Smith will have a nice game, the Seattle defense just needs to hold the Saint offense in check. The good news is that Jameis Winston could hold down the Saints offense on his own.

This is a Saints team that has lost to the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants. Those are not signs of a dominant team. They can and will be beat by Geno Smith and the Seahawks.

New Orleans is a  4-point favorite on WynnBET Sportsbook, but Seattle has a solid value on the moneyline at +165 at home.
