3 Bold Predictions for Jazz-Clippers
Game 2 of the NBA’s Western Conference Semifinal series between the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers is set for tonight. Los Angeles will look to grab the win in Utah and gain home court advantage by tying up the series at 1-1.
WynnBET has the Jazz set as three-point favorites, and the total is set at 223 points.
But what about prop bets? Here are three bold wagers that I have locked in for today’s game.
Kawhi Leonard to record a double-double +240
WynnBET has Kawhi Leonard to record a double-double set at +240, and I love the value on that bet. Leonard has already recorded a double-double three times so far in the postseason, with those three occurrences happening in Game 1, Game 4, and Game 7 against the Dallas Maviercks.
The common denominator in two of the three double-doubles was that they came in games that the Clippers had to win. In Game 4, with the Clippers down 2-1 in the series against the Mavs, Leonard recorded 29 points and 10 rebounds to give Los Angeles the win to even the series. In Game 7, which of course was a winner-take-all game, the Clippers saw Leonard ball out for 28 points and 10 rebounds.
With the Clippers down 1-0 in the series, expect Kawhi to have another great game on both sides of the court. Him recording his fourth double-double of the postseason is a great bet at +240.
Donovan Mitchell to record a double-double +700
The title of this article is “bold” predictions for the game after all.
Donovan Mitchell has recorded a double-double once so far in the playoffs, and it came in Game 5 against the Grizzlies when they closed the series out. The Jazz haven’t lost since Mitchell returned to the lineup after Utah lost Game 1 against Memphis.
After a 45-point performance in Game 1 against LA, expect the Clippers to key in on Mitchell in Game 2. If they try to lock Mitchell down, he’ll have to dish the rock off to his teammates, which would mean more assists for the star shooting guard.
With point guard Mike Conley set to miss his second straight game in the series due to a hamstring injury, Mitchell will certainly have more playmaking duties in Game 2 than he would if Conley was able to play.
It’s a long shot, but it’s hard to pass up at +700 odds.
Utah Jazz to win by 11+ points +240
Let’s be honest, the Clippers haven’t looked like the team we all expected to see in the playoffs. Luka Doncic almost single-handedly eliminated the Clippers in the first round, as Los Angeles had to win two straight games to stay alive and advance to the second round.
They also looked terrible in Game 1 against the Jazz and were lucky to only lose by three points considering Paul George shot an abysmal 4-for-17 from the field. A big reason why the Clippers’ supporting cast had an off game, was because of Utah’s underrated defense. The Jazz are fourth in the NBA in defensive efficiency and first in opponent effective field goal percentage.
If the Jazz can play lockdown defense again in Game 2, don’t be shocked if they win the game by more than 11 points.
