3 Bold Predictions for Kevin Durant in Nets vs. Bulls
By Peter Dewey
Kevin Durant has led the Brooklyn Nets to five consecutive wins, and they will go on the road against the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
Durant and company are actually underdogs in this matchup, and I’m backing them to pull off the upset against a Bulls team that is just 2-3 against playoff teams from last season in the 2021-22 campaign.
Here are three bold predictions I’m making on Durant’s performance with odds via WynnBET:
Bold Predictions for Kevin Durant vs. Bulls
- Kevin Durant UNDER 28.5 Points (-115)
- Kevin Durant UNDER 8.5 Rebounds (-135)
- Kevin Durant Finishes With 5.0 or More Assists
Kevin Durant UNDER 28.5 Points (-115)
Durant has gone over this total in his last three games, but he had gone under it in four straight before that.
The biggest reason I’m fading Durant’s scoring prop is because the Nets are in the second game of a back-to-back, and I don’t think Steve Nash will be as inclined to throw Durant out there for too many minutes in this matchup.
Durant is one of the best scorers in NBA history, but Chicago has a top 10 defense (seventh in defensive rating) and should be able to keep him somewhat in check.
Kevin Durant UNDER 8.5 Rebounds (-135)
Durant is averaging 8.6 rebounds per game, but he has hit the over on this number just once in his past four games, averaging just 6.3 rebounds per game over that stretch.
I think Durant could push seven or eight rebounds in this game, but his average is a bit skewed from some early performances where he grabbed 26 rebounds in two games.
Kevin Durant Finishes With 5.0 or More Assists
WynnBET doesn’t have odds up yet for Durant’s assist prop, but he’s been an even better passer this season, totaling five or more dimes in five straight games.
I think he keeps that going tonight, as Chicago’s defense is going to try to force others to beat them on Monday. Durant is averaging 5.4 assists per game this season, and his huge usage rate (32.5 percent) should allow him to continue this streak.
