Joel Embiid will miss tonight’s game against the New York Knicks after he was placed in the NBA’s health and safety protocols.
76ers All-Star Joel Embiid has entered health and safety protocols, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Tonight was planned rest for Embiid, but he could miss several games.

The Knicks, who were 4.5-point underdogs earlier in the day, are now a pick’em at WynnBET against the Philadelphia 76ers in the second night of a back-to-back.
Even without Embiid, there are plenty of player props to look at in this matchup. Here are my three bold predictions for Knicks-Sixers:
Bold Predictions for Knicks vs. Sixers
- RJ Barrett OVER 16.5 Points (-130)
- Andre Drummond OVER 13.5 Rebounds (-105)
- Seth Curry OVER 16.5 Points (-130)
RJ Barrett OVER 16.5 Points (-130)
RJ Barrett had scored 20 or more points in five straight games before a down night against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.
I think this is a perfect bounce-back spot, especially with Embiid out, for Barrett to hit the over at just 16.5.
Barrett is still averaging 17.9 points per game this season while shooting 45.2 percent from the field this season. I think we’re getting a little value at just 16.5.
Andre Drummond OVER 13.5 Rebounds (-105)
Andre Drummond has made one start in place of Embiid this season, and he put up a double-double against the Portland Trail Blazers in that game with 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Drummond is one of the game’s best rebounders, and he’s averaging 8.6 per game in just 17.7 minutes per night this season. I think he can have a big game on the glass with some extended run against Mitchell Robinson and Nerlens Noel.
Seth Curry OVER 16.5 Points (-130)
Seth Curry has been one of the best shooters in the NBA this season, averaging 17.1 points on 60.0 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc.
Curry is going to have an even bigger role against the Knicks with Embiid out of the lineup as well as Tobias Harris.
Among all NBA players this season thus far, @FurkanKorkmaz is now 2nd in fourth quarter points (71).

Seth Curry is 3rd among all players in first quarter points (77).
Korkmaz trails only DeMar DeRozan in Q4 pts, while Curry trails only Anthony Davis and Steph Curry in Q1 pts. pic.twitter.com/xCsa5UcMc8
Even at -130 there is plenty of value in taking Curry to score his season average or better against the Knicks No. 27 defense.
