3 Bold Predictions for Red Sox vs. Astros ALCS Game 6
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Houston Astros lead the ALCS 3-2, winning Game 5 by eight runs. Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez allowed just one earned run in eight solid innings of work, striking out five. Designated hitter Yordan Alvarez led the offense with a three-hit night, hitting a home run off Boston’s starting pitcher Chris Sale in the second inning and driving in three runs.
If the Red Sox want to force a Game 7, they’re going to need a strong performance tonight.
Here are three bold predictions for ALCS Game 6, odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
Bold Predictions For Red Sox-Astros ALCS Game 6
- Boston Crushes Luis Garcia Again
- Boston Will Go OVER the Game 6 Run Total in the First Five Innings
- Nathan Eovaldi Will Pitch Seven Scoreless Innings
Boston Crushes Luis Garcia Again
Luis Garcia started Game 2 and allowed five earned runs in just one inning pitched, walking three batters and giving up a first inning grand slam to J.D. Martinez.
It will be another rough night for Garcia. WynnBET has Garcia’s strikeouts prop set at 3.5 (Over -105/Under -115). He won’t be in the game long enough to record four strikeouts.
Garcia has recorded an ERA of 24.55 in 3 ⅔ innings this postseason, and has a 15.88 ERA in 5 ⅔ innings in his postseason career.
With their backs against the wall, the Red Sox lineup will come out swinging.
Boston Will Go OVER the Game 6 Run Total in the First Five Innings
The run total for Game 6 is set at 8.5 runs on WynnBET (Over -130/Under +110), and with the big, lefty bat of Kyle Schwarber batting leadoff, followed by Enrique Hernandez, Rafael Devers, and Xander Bogaerts, the Red Sox are going to smash their way into Game 7.
Boston has hit three grand slams this postseason, and they could do it again at the homer-friendly Minute Maid Park in Houston.
The run line for the Red Sox (-1.5) is a valuable +150 tonight. I’m hammering that line.
Nathan Eovaldi Will Pitch Seven Scoreless Innings
This game will be one-sided. Boston’s lineup is going to smash Garcia and the Astros, and Eovaldi will silence the Houston batting order.
In his last outing against the Astros, Eovaldi came out of the bullpen and allowed four runs in just ⅔ of an inning pitched. Tonight, he will redeem himself.
Boston’s bullpen has been shaky in the playoffs, but if Eovaldi can settle in early, manager Alex Cora will ride him as long as he can.
WynnBET has Eovaldi’s strikeout prop set at only 2.5 (Over -160/Under +130). Eovaldi will surpass that strikeout total in the second inning.
