3 Bold Predictions for Stefon Diggs Against the Chiefs
By Thomas Snodgrass
Buffalo Bills’ wide receiver Stefon Diggs led the NFL in receptions and receiving yards last year, so I don’t need to remind anyone of how good he really is.
This week, Diggs and the Bills will line up against a Kansas City Chiefs team that is led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, so this could be a high-scoring game. The Chiefs may be able to put points on the board, but their defense can’t seem to keep points off of it, as evidenced by their 31.3 points against per game.
This sounds like a potentially explosive game for Buffalo’s offense, specifically the connection of quarterback Josh Allen to Diggs.
Here are three bold predictions for Stefon Diggs in Week 5 against the Chiefs.
Stefon Diggs Will Record 10 Catches
Diggs has yet to record a 10-catch game in 2021, but picked up five such games in 2020.
Kansas City has not allowed a receiver to post a 10-catch game against them this season, but started the year off against the run-happy Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.
The Bills 23-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 was the closest contest they have played so far. Diggs’ snap percentage in that game was 93 percent. In the other three not-so-close contests, Diggs’ snap percentages were 78, 75, and 74. He recorded a season-high nine catches in Week 1, and if this game is close, he should be utilized enough in the offense to eclipse that total.
WynnBET Sportsbook has listed Diggs’ receptions total at 7.5 catches (Over +100/Under -140).
Stefon Diggs Will Have 100 Receiving Yards in the First Half
As I’ve mentioned, this Chiefs defense is not very good.
Buffalo will look to jump out to a big lead early in this one, so I would not be surprised one bit to hear “Allen to Diggs” quite often in the first half.
Kansas City is allowing 307 passing yards per game. If this weak passing defense gets picked apart again by Josh Allen in Week 5, who will benefit more than Stefon Diggs?
WynnBET has Diggs’ receiving yards prop set at 88.5 (Over -125/Under -115).
Stefon Diggs Will Score Two Touchdowns
There are plenty of receiving options in the Bills’ passing offense, such as Emmanuel Sanders, Cole Beasley, and tight end Dawson Knox, but Diggs will find the endzone twice.
If Diggs is lined up against Kansas City cornerback Mike Hughes, it should be a great performance from Diggs, especially if the game becomes a shootout.
The Chiefs have allowed just one two-touchdown catching performance to the Los Angeles Chargers’ Mike Williams in Week 3, but Diggs will add his name to that list in Week 5.
