3 Bold Predictions for NBA Finals Game 2 Between Bucks and Suns
Game 1 of any series is a feel-out process for each team. Both sides are trying to figure out how the other team is attacking and get a feeling about where the series is going.
The Phoenix Suns were able to get a full team effort in Game 1 and Game 2 should be no different. With both teams making adjustments to stop what worked in Game 1, here are my three bold predictions for Game 2.
Jae Crowder over on 2.5 3-Pointers
Crowder’s line is a little high. He went 0-for-9 from three in Game 1, but that’s OK. An occasional 0-for game from Crowder is a regular occurrence. I have faith in Crowder because he has shown to bounce back well from those types of games. He had two such games last series and turned in strong performances the following contest.
In the games following his 0-fors, Crowder also shoots with great efficiency, shooting at least 50% from 3 in his last two bounce games. WynnBET has the under (-130) favoring the over (-104), but I see Crowder on the over. He’s been in this position before and tonight should be no different.
Cameron Payne over 7.5 points
Payne was the early star of the Western Conference Finals when Chris Paul was out. He scored 29 points in the Game 2 thriller and showed himself as one of the key role players in Phoenix. Since Paul has returned, Payne has struggled to score.
However, Payne scored 10 points on 50% shooting in Game 1 and I am taking the over on his points for Game 2.
Payne hasn’t scored back-to-back games in double figures while Paul is in the lineup since the first round. Yet Game 2 should be a different story. The last four games of the Western Conference Finals were a bad shooting display from Payne.
Nevertheless, his minutes and shot attempts have stayed consistent throughout. WynnBET is slightly favoring the over (-115) against the under (-108). Although Payne can be inconsistent at times, tonight should be a good game.
Khris Middleton over on 1.5 steals
Jrue Holiday gets most of the credit on the Milwaukee Bucks for his defense, but Middleton has some defensive prowess of his own. WynnBET has set his line for steals at 1.5, with the under (-170) favoring the over (+120). This is a great opportunity to trust Middleton and bet on the over.
Middleton didn’t record a steal in Game 1, but that was an outlier compared to how he’s played recently. In the ten games prior to Game 1, Middleton recorded at least two steals in seven of those games.
He’s been great picking people’s pocket and should be able to get back to his norm in Game 2.
