Last year, Jacob deGrom was on his way to winning the Cy Young award before he got hurt. It's a new year and he is healthy again. WynnBET has deGrom as the favorite to win the award, but there are other names you should consider to win.

Here are three players that you should consider as your dark horse NL Cy Young winner.

Dark Horses for NL Cy Young Award

  • Julio Urias: +3000
  • Marcus Stroman: +5000
  • Trevor Rogers: +5000

Julio Urias: +2000

Urias had a fantastic 2021 season and is poised to have another great season in 2022. He led the majors in wins last year (20) and finished seventh in the Cy Young voting. Urias will once again have great bats behind him to get wins, which will allow him to pitch freely and aggressively. If Urias has a similar season to last year, a Cy Young is on its way to Los Angeles.

Marcus Stroman: +5000

Stroman had a good comeback season in 2021 after opting out of the 2020 season. Stroman led the majors in games played for pitchers (33). That durability will lead to a lot of opportunities for Stroman to get on top. His ERA is close to being sub-3.00 and his strikeout numbers are respectable. Stroman has a chance, especially since all the rust is knocked off.

Trevor Rogers: +5000

Rogers has a bright future ahead of him, and he can step into it this season. As an All-Star and runner-up for Rookie of the Year, Rogers is not new to awards. His 2.64 ERA is fantastic and would put him near the top of the list. Rogers is going to have to pick up wins this year. In 25 games, he only had 7 wins. That’s not going to be enough. If he can get legitimate wins, he can sneak into the conversation.
