The Denver Broncos, along with the rest of the NFL teams, will announce their full 2022 schedules tonight for us to start pouring over. In the meantime, we still know what teams the Broncos are playing and where. The when can wait as we dive into the three biggest matchups the Broncos have in the upcoming season.

The Broncos have lofty expectations with Russell Wilson in the fold this season, currently +750 to win the AFC and +1800 to win the Super Bowl, but before we start thinking about Wilson hoisting a Lombardi Trophy, let's go through 3 of their most important games of the season.

Three Must-Win Games for the Broncos

Broncos vs. Rams

This is one of the few games announced that has a date attached to it. The Broncos and Rams will clash on Christmas day in Week 16 in Los Angeles. The Broncos could be in the middle of a division race at this point with Russell Wilson under center. It would be a strong test of their growth to face off against the reigning Super Bowl Champions that late into the season.

Broncos vs. Jaguars

While some might be surprised to see the Jaguars on this list, I think this is a key game for this team. This Week 8 game is one of the international matchups scheduled for 2022 and will be played in London. The Chargers will have a bye in Week 9, but these international games can be tricky. And the Jaguars have a lot of experience with them. It’s possible that the Jaguars take a leap forward this year and a loss to them would be bad for the Broncos' chances of climbing the ladder towards the playoffs. It’s these types of games that separate the contenders and pretenders.

Broncos vs. Chargers

This is sort of a default choice seeing as how the Chargers finished ahead of the Broncos in the AFC West last year. These two teams split games and look to match up well again in 2022. If either team is able to sweep the other, it will go a long way towards catching the Chiefs and Raiders. I think that the Chargers represent the biggest short-term challenge to the Broncos and beating them will help them find their way towards the top 2 in the AFC West.
