WynnBET Sportsbook has released its odds for this year’s Heisman Trophy, so let’s dive into the best picks for the award.

While the Heisman has mostly transformed into a quarterback award, skill position players still sneak into the discussion all the time. In 2020, Alabama receiver DeVonta Smith became the first wide receiver to win since Desmond Howard in 1991.

The season doesn’t kick off for several months, but here are a few players to bet on right now to get some value.

Top Picks for 2022 Heisman Trophy

  • CJ Stroud: +250
  • Bryce Young: +350
  • Bijan Robinson: +2000

CJ Stroud: +250 - Ohio State Buckeyes Quarterback

Stroud is one of the best quarterbacks in the country and will definitely have all the preseason hype to start his season.

He finished last year with over 4,400 yards, 44 touchdowns and a 91.6 QBR. All of those numbers were in the top 5 in the country.

With the Buckeyes expected to win the Big 10 and be in the College Football Playoff discussion, you can be sure that Stroud’s name will be in the conversation for a better part of the year.

Bryce Young: +350 - Alabama Crimson Tide Quarterback

Just like Stroud, Young has a lot of hype around him going into this season. Young had one of the best seasons in the country last year. He was second in yards, touchdowns and QBR. Young was the only quarterback to put pressure on eventual national champion Georgia’s defense last year.

He is the leader of the favorites to win the title and will be the top choice at the end of the year if Alabama rises to its normal standard.

Bijan Robinson: +2000 - Texas Longhorns Running Back

This is showing a little bit of my Texas bias, but Robinson is one of the most talented players in the country. Robinson averaged over 140 scrimmage yards per game last season while also scoring 15 times.

The Longhorns still have an unknown at quarterback. Despite the hype around Quinn Ewers, the offense will run through Robinson. Expect him to get a boatload of carries and put the Longhorns on his back.

If Texas can be “back,” watch for Robinson’s odds to fall quickly.
