3 Prop Bets for Red Sox vs. Astros ALCS Game 6
By Reed Wallach
The Red Sox will try to save their season with yet another heroic effort from starter Nathan Eovaldi. Will he show up and force a decisive Game 7, or will the Astros bats stay hot and send Boston home?
Before you check out our prop bets, you can see our full game preview here.
However, this article will cover a trio of props we are eyeing in Friday nights game, with odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
Prop Bets for Red Sox vs. Astros ALCS Game 6
- Nathan Eovladi OVER 2.5 Strikeouts (-175)
- Luis Garcia OVER 3.5 Strikeouts (-105)
- Xander Bogaerts OVER 0.5 Runs (+120)
Nathan Eovladi OVER 2.5 Strikeouts (-175)
I hate laying this price, but this is way too low of a bar. I'm envisioning that WynnBET is overreacting to Game 2 and that Eovaldi pitched in Game 4.
He struck out three in 5.1 innings in Game 2, and then came in on short rest out of the pen in the top of the ninth in Game 4, however he struck out both batters he got out.
While this number is juiced to the over, I can't see Eovaldi not clearing this total in the first two innings. He's clutch, and mentioned to the media that he is good to go. I'll lay the price and cash this winner.
Luis Garcia OVER 3.5 Strikeouts (-105)
I don't think that Garcia is going to give a strong outing but I'm going to try and predict the game script and think that Astros manager Dusty Baker keeps the long view in Game 6.
Houston can play for one win in two with a 3-2 series lead. So, if Garcia struggles again, Baker can leave him in and tax his arm in hopes of keeping a majority of the bullpen available in Game 7 if the series gets there.
Garcia struck out nearly 10 batters per nine innings, so if he gets even four innings of average pitching, he cashes this over. I'll go galaxy brain and back Garcia to go over this total.
Xander Bogaerts OVER 0.5 Runs (+120)
Bogaerts is hitting just .227 in the ALCS, and is hitless in his four at bats against Garcia in his career, but I am going to back the Red Sox lineup to produce some runs.
With that in mind, Bogaerts gives me a great price on a guy that can get on base and be brought home by the likes of Rafael Devers and J.D. Martinez. The shortstop is hitting .301 against righties this season, I'll bank on some positive regression.
