After one Cameron stole the show at the British Open with a putting masterclass to win his first major championship, another Cameron (also a Champ) looks to defend his title as the PGA Tour returns to the 3M Open this weekend at TPC Twin Cities.
Last year's 3M Open went swimmingly for the BetSided crew, as Iain MacMillan cashed a massive 100-1 payout on Cameron Champ.
Traditionally, a number of top golfers take this week off due to a grueling few months, but we've still got a stellar field teeing off in Blaine, Minnesota.
Before we try to catch lightning-in-a-bottle twice, here is a full guide to this week's event starting with our betting picks from Green on the Greens:
Can LIV Golfers Play in the 3M Open?
No. The 3M Open is officially sanctioned by the PGA Tour, so any LIV Tour golfers are ineligible to compete.
2022 3M Open Location
The 3M Open returns to TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota. This is the fourth annual 3M Open, which succeeded the 3M Championship held each year at TPC Twin Cities since 2001.

3M Open Prize Money (What Is the Purse for the 3M Open?)
The total purse for the 2022 3M Open is $7.5 million. While not quite LIV Tour levels, this is the largest prize pool ever for the event and a $1 million increase from 2021.
First place takes home $1.35 million, with second place winning $817,500 and the payouts accordingly decreasing with each placement.

3M Open Picks and Predictions
TPC Twin Cities is a par 71, 7,431-yard course with wide-open, rolling terrain and a lot of water hazards. Thus, Strokes Gained: Off-The-Tee and driving accuracy are both crucial statistics to avoid disaster and put yourself in a position to succeed.
Strokes Gained: Approach is also vital, though a majority of approach shots in the past have come from the 175-200 yard range. The most common hole is a Par 4 from 450-500 yards, so I'm looking for golfers who can capitalize at that distance as well.
With that in mind, I'm opening my card with Sungjae Im (+2000). We're getting a discount on Sungjae after three consecutive poor events, but prior to the U.S. Open he'd finished in the top 15 in four of his last five events. Im ranks 12th on Tour in Strokes Gained: Off-The-Tee and 13th in Par 4 Efficiency from 450-500 yards out. He's a strong iron player and excels around the greens, so I'm thrilled to get a +2000 number in a relatively weak field.
I'll also look to J.T. Poston, who has no business being +3000 in this field. He missed the cut at the Open but won the John Deere Classic and finished T2 at the Travelers with a birdie barrage that would make even the finest golfers blush. Poston has continually improved with his irons and that stellar approach play will put him in position to win.
Nick Hardy is worth a look at +4000. He's made the cut in six consecutive events with three top-14 finishes and is T13 with Sungjae in Par 4 Efficiency from 450-500 yards. He's 22nd on Tour in Strokes Gained: Off-The-Tee and his best approach shots are from 175-200 yards, so he fits the profile I'm looking for.
Chris Gotterup (+5000) and Doug Ghim (+7500) are two longshots to keep in mind. Gotterup already has two top-seven finishes in just six PGA events and gained strokes on the field with his approach shots in every event but one. Ghim, meanwhile, is a stellar iron player who makes up for a lack of driving distance with exceptional accuracy. In these kinds of fields, I'm looking for players who give themselves birdie looks and both of these golfers fit the mold.
