The Arizona Cardinals have established themselves as the early leaders in the stacked NFC West after coming out on top in the battle of the undefeated teams against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4.

They head home in Week 5 to host another NFC West opponent, the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers enter the game at 2-2 after dropping their Week 4 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Trey Lance had to take over forJimmy Garoppolo due to an injury in the game, and the rookie had ups and downs throughout the game. He completed 9-of-18 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns. No official word has been given for who the starting quarterback will be in Week 5.

The Cardinals rank 30th in the NFL in opponent rushing yards per play. Teams are averaging 5.4 yards on the ground against them, and now they have to face one of the top rushing offenses in the league.

If Trey Lance gets the start for San Francisco, his ability to run with the football will only help the 49ers' chances against the Arizona defense.

On the defensive side of the football, the 49ers' pass defense is their strength which is important in slowing down the Cardinals offense. San Francisco ranks 10th in both opponent yards per pass attempt and opponent passing yards per game at 218.2.
