The San Francisco 49ers, for the second straight week, are a huge favorite over an NFC South team. The 49ers just demolished the Carolina Panthers, and look to do the same against the Atlanta Falcons.
This season has started off much better for the Falcons than many people thought it would. They are 2-3 on the season and have been one of the best running teams in the league. However, the 49ers look on track for another deep playoff run. Can they have another dominant win this week?

The Falcons were able to score in garbage time and backdoor cover against the Buccaneers, but don’t let that fool you into backing them this week against San Francisco.
I’m all over the 49ers in this game, as they are perfectly designed to stop the Falcons. Atlanta makes its money off of the running game. It’s sixth in yards per rush, fourth in rushing attempts per game and third in rushing yards per game.
San Francisco, on the other hand, is first in opponent yards per rush (3.0) and second in opponent rushing yards per game. This is a strength on strength matchup, and I’ll easily back the 49ers.
Atlanta just faced a defense built to stop the run in Tampa Bay, and we saw the giant lead the Bucs were able to get out to. Now, they’ll have to face a better defense with more weapons on the offensive side of the ball.
As long as everyone stays healthy, the 49ers should dominate on the ground – on both offense and defense – and cruise to another win.
