Alright we’re doing this with Brock Purdy, this is real, this is happening. The San Francisco 49ers and Mr. Irrelevant put a beatdown on Tom Brady and the Bucs in Week 14, 35-7.

Now, the Niners are 9-4 after Purdy went 16-for-21 for 185 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another. They’re closing in on a division title and can clinch with a win over the Seahawks in Seattle on Thursday night.

Seattle is limping to the finish line after a 30-24 loss to the Panthers on Sunday that leaves Pete Caroll’s team at 7-6 and clinging to a playoff spot. If Seattle can turn it around on Thursday night, it can all but assure itself a spot in the wild card. But the Seahawks are home underdogs, so Vegas doesn’t like their chances.

Let’s take a look at those odds and I’ll tell you how I’m betting Thursday night football early in the week.

49ers vs. Seahawks Odds, Spread and Total

Seattle and San Francisco Betting Trends

  • Seattle is 6-7 ATS
  • The Over is 8-5 in Seattle’s games
  • San Francisco is 8-5 ATS
  • San Francisco is 4-0 ATS in their last four games
  • Seattle is 0-4 ATS in last four

49ers vs. Seahawks Prediction and Odds

Like I said, this Brock Purdy thing is very real. The last pick of the 2022 draft has played legitimately well as the quarterback of the Niners and he looks like a guy who can win a playoff game. It does help that San Francisco has weapons all over the offense, but Deebo Samuel did go down with a scary injury against Tampa Bay.

The good news is that it doesn’t seem to be a major injury, but I would be surprised if he was able to play on Thursday.

Purdy is competent, but he might not even have to throw the ball in this game. Seattle’s defense is falling apart down the stretch. They never had enough talent to sustain their level of play from earlier in the year, and that lack of star power in the defensive front is showing.

Carolina ran for 223 yards and two touchdowns, and that team traded away Christian McCaffrey. What’s going to happen when they face the team that traded for him?

Last game, McCaffrey ran for 119 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and caught two passes for 34 yards and another score. He’ll have a huge day against the Seahawks.

The last time these teams played was Week 2, and the 49ers won it 27-7. Trey Lance got hurt in that game and Garoppolo had to come in, but now it’s down to Brock Purdy and it still won’t matter. San Fran will win big and clinch the NFC West.
