We've reached the Thanksgiving portion of the NFL schedule, which is basically the time when we find out who the real Super Bowl contenders are. But while most fans are trying to sort out where their team ranks in that hierarchy, bettors know the more important question is who are the best team at covering the spread.

NFL teams that are great against the spread aren't always great in the W-L column, but dammit we're trying to make some money, not necessarily win games!

Here are the best teams at covering the spread this year with their ATS record in brackets.

Tennessee Titans (8-2)

After losing their opener to the New York Giants and then getting blown out by the Buffalo Bills in their second game of the season, the Titans haven't gotten much respect in Vegas but they have gotten respect from bettors. The Titans are on an eight-game cover streak, including three games where they won outright as underdogs.

Now, they're coming off a bye, so that ATS hot streak may have been cooled with their time off. They're underdogs on the road against Cincinatti this week, but the Titans have, as mentioned before, won three-of-four games outright as underdogs during this streak. Bet against them at your own risk.

Cincinnati Bengals (7-3)

Cincinnati is rolling against the spread, having covered in seven of eight games. It doesn't matter of the Bengals are underdogs or favorites. they're covering, and by a pretty hefty margin.

Outside of a 19-17 loss to Baltimore, where they were 3-point underdogs, the Bengals have covered by an average margin of 8.1 points. That's a nice number for those looking to avoid the sweat.

Of course, they face the aforementioned top ATS team in the NFL this year, the Titans this week. We'll see whose hot streak comes to an end.

New York Giants (7-3)

The Giants have been an ATS and moneyline bettor's favorite team this year. They've won four games outright as underdogs and have covered the spread in all of their wins. The problem is, when they lose they don't cover and today they're expect to lose.

The Giants are 0-3 ATS in games they've lost and are 10-point underdogs against the Cowboys today. Unless you think the Giants are primed for an upset, and that's bold considering all the injuries they have right now, it's best to fade them in games you expect them to lose.

Dallas Cowboys (7-3)

Wouldn't you guess it -- the team the Giants face today is another dominant ATS squad. Even more interesting, they have the same exact ATS record as the Giants in wins and losses.

Yes, the Cowboys have covered the spread in all seven of their wins and failed to cover in their three losses. This game screams Cowboys cover based on the ATS numbers. But, with an even number, could it be a push for these two ATS powerhouses? Very interested to see the outcome here.

Los Angeles Chargers (7-3)

Unlike how their fans feel about them, the Chargers are not a frustration for bettors. They've covered three straight games, even though they've lost two of them.

The most interesting thing about the Chargers is they're 3-0 ATS as underdogs but only 4-3 as favorites. They're 3-point favorites against Cardinals this week so bettor beware.
