AAC Odds & Season Preview
The American Athletic Conference has established itself as arguably the best non-BCS football conference in the country.
Just a few years after UCF had an undefeated season that was capped off by beating Auburn in a Bowl Game, Cincinnati went 9-0 before losing to No. 9 Georgia in a heartbreaking 24-21 loss.
While nobody in the conference will make the four-team playoff under the current format, the top school has established itself as belonging in the conversation of the best teams in the country almost every single year.

The Bearcats Are Heavy Favorites to Repeat as Champions
The Cincinnati Bearcats went on a Cinderella run last season, and now they’ll be returning almost their entire roster for another year. If there was ever a team from a non-BCS conference to make it to the College Football Playoff, this year’s Cincinnati team could be the one to do it.
Quarterback Desmond Ridder also has a chance to become the first player from a non-BCS school to win the Heisman Trophy, and WynnBET has his current odds to achieve the feat set at +3000.
While both accomplishments may seem like pipe dreams, the Bearcats were close to defeating Georgia in the Bowl Game last year, considered by many to be one of the top programs in the country. Cincinnati also has road games against Notre Dame and Indiana this season, so if it can win both, the resume may just be strong enough to get the nod.
Regardless if the Bearcats can make the College Football Playoff, they’re deserving of being heavy favorites to win the AAC for the second straight year.
Cincinnati is ranked No. 8 in the AP Top 25 preseason poll.
