The top contenders for many of the MLB awards are beginning to separate themselves from the pack, but the race for the American League Rookie of the Year continues to be a tight one.

Adolis Garcia of the Texas Rangers is the current betting favorite at +100 odds, but there’s a group of four rookies on his tail.

Here are the top 10 players on the odds list at WynnBET to be named American League Rookie of the Year:

  • Adolis Garcia +100
  • Luis Garcia +275
  • Akil Baddoo +300
  • Randy Arozarena +400
  • Eric Haase +1200
  • Ryan Mountcastle +1500
  • Andrew Vaughn +2000
  • James Kaprielian +2500
  • Shane McClanahan +2500
  • Logan Gilbert +3000

It’s pretty rare to find a 28-year old rookie in the Majors, but it’s especially rare for a rookie of that age to be the favorite to be named rookie of the year. Adolis has smashed 23 home runs this season and sports a batting average of .257. His early season success was rewarded with a spot in the MLB All-Star Game.

Luis Garcia (no relation to Adolis) has been the top rookie pitcher in the American League this season. He’s been lights out for the Houston Astros, recording a 3.19 ERA and a 1.083 WHIP across 19 games and 17 starts. He has the sixth best earned run average among all starting pitchers in the AL.

Akil Baddoo, outfielder for the Detroit Tigers, may not have the power that Adolis Garcia possesses, but his .269 batting average and .342 on base percentage has established him as one of the best weapons that the Tigers possess.

Rounding out the top four contenders to win the award is Randy Arozarena, who was the preseason favorite to win ROY honors. He played a key role in the Tampa Bay Rays World Series run last season, and he’s following it up with a solid first full season in the Majors. He’s hit 14 home runs in 415 plate appearances, while also sporting a solid .257 batting average.
