Alabama State vs. UCLA Prediction and Odds: The Hornets are in Line for a Rough Night in LA.

The late game on Wednesday night is also expected to be the most lopsided.

With a spread of 35 points, the Alabama State Hornets are not going to have a smooth evening on the road against No. 4 UCLA. The Bruins are 8-1 with their lone loss coming to No. 5 Gonzaga back when they were the top-ranked team in the nation. The Bruins have proven themselves to be one of the most dangerous teams in the country after beating Villanova, UNLV, and Marquette. This should be a cakewalk for the Bruins. 

The Hornets' projected rank is 346th in the nation out of 358 teams listed on Teamrankings and are expected to win less than 10 games this season. One of those wins will not come tonight. But, can the Hornets keep it “close” and cover Wednesday’s biggest spread?

There isn’t a whole lot to break down here with two teams on opposite ends of the spectrum. The Hornets don’t rank anywhere near the Bruins in any statistical category across the board. They are going to get smoked tonight. But, this spread is massive and I am still not sure what to make of it.

I struggle with spreads this high because beating a team by 36 points is not just a matter of skill. You have to want to win by 36 points which are not something all teams try to do in a blowout. Everything needs to fall into place for the Bruins to cover this spread including their drive to run up the score. 

While UCLA is far and away the better team, I can’t help but be tempted by such a huge spread. Give me the points with Alabama State here with a lean to the over.
