Alabama vs. Mississippi State Prediction, Odds and Spread for College Football Week 7
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Alabama Crimson Tide lost their first game to the Texas A&M Aggies in Week 6, 41-38. It was quite an upset for the formerly 5-0 Crimson Tide, as they committed eight penalties and allowed the Aggies offense to jump out to a 17-7 first quarter lead.
Quarterback Bryce Young threw for 369 yards and three touchdowns and running back Brian Robinson Jr. ran for 147 yards, but it wasn’t enough. Alabama’s passing defense allowed Texas A&M quarterback Zach Calzada to pick the Crimson Tide apart, throwing for 285 yards and three touchdowns. It was the most passing yards Calzada had all season and his first three touchdown game since defeating New Mexico on Sept. 18.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs are coming off a bye week, but last time out beating Texas A&M, 26-22. Mississippi State allowed Calzada to throw for just 135 yards with one touchdown and an interception.

Alabama vs. Mississippi State Prediction
Alabama’s passing defense did not look good at all against Texas A&M last week. The Aggies found a lot of success against the Crimson Tide and averaged 9.2 yards per pass.
This week Alabama has to face Mike Leach’s air-raid offense in Mississippi State, and the Bulldogs quarterback Will Rogers could have a big game. Rogers is completing 75 percent of his passes and has collected 1,862 passing yards and 14 touchdowns in his first five games.
As long as the Crimson Tide keeps getting bashed by quarterbacks, I’ll take Mississippi State on the spread at +19.
