I'm in no rush to back this Alabama team on the road given their struggles shooting the ball and the fact that Vandy has played tough lately, going 4-0-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five games.

Further, the two teams are playing like near equals of late. According to barttorvik.com, the Crimson Tide are No. 32 since February 1st while the Commodores are 39th, playing more balanced ball as well.

Alabama may not be the high powered offensive team that made it to the Sweet 16 last season, but they play fast and can dominate inside. Vandy has the third worst two-point defense in the SEC and the Crimson Tide can score quickly against a team that struggles in transition.

On the other end, the Tide won't attack the hosts turnover issues and will happily cede the three-point shot, which Pippen and co. are hitting on nearly 36% of in league play.

Despite the Crimson Tide's reliance on their poor three-point shooting, I'm expecting an up tempo affair that features a ton of possessions and limited defense. Since the beginning of February, Alabama is outside the top 100 in bartorvik's defensive efficiency rating so I foresee both offenses getting what they want. With a close spread, I think we see foul shots take us over the total.
