Andy Dalton and Justin Fields got some great news on Monday as Chicago Bears star wideout Allen Robinson II is reporting to camp.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy has to be pleased that the franchise-tagged receiver is still willing to be a part of the team’s offseason program and establish some chemistry with the new quarterbacks.

Nagy had been adamant that Dalton is currently the starter, but it’s seriously hard to believe that the veteran is going to hold off Fields for very long.

The Bears traded up to get Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft, and Vegas believes that he’s going to start sooner rather than later. WynnBET has Fields second on its odds list for the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year awards at +525 odds. Fields only trails No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence (+275) in the rankings.

Robinson set a career-high in catches last season with 102 and tallied 1,250 receiving yards and six touchdowns despite the Bears switching between Mitch Trubisky and Nick Foles during the 2020 campaign.

He’s one of the league’s top threats on the outside, and while the team was unable to come to an agreement on a long-term deal with Robinson, it is a positive sign that he is willing to come to camp without said deal in place.

If Robinson and Dalton or Fields (please Nagy, let it be Fields) are able to establish a solid connection, it could persuade him to return for the 2022 season and beyond.

Chicago made the playoffs in 2020, but it isn’t expected to have the same success in 2021. WynnBET has the Bears as a -240 favorite to miss the postseason. Chicago is also projected to win just 7.5 games in 2021 even though the over (-115) is a slight favorite to the under (-105).

At the end of the day, the Bears quarterback, whoever it may be, will ultimately decide the fate of this team in 2021. However, having Robinson on the outside certainly makes things a little easier on offense.
