Angels Favored vs. Rangers in Janson Junk's MLB Debut

Everyone loves this time of the baseball season as teams make a final charge at a playoff berth.

While that’s all well and good, an underrated aspect of the final month of the season that I personally enjoy is getting a peak at prospects that teams who are outside of the playoff picture bring up to the Majors to get a look at.

One of those prospects is Los Angeles Angels pitcher Janson Junk.

Now, let’s be honest, Janson Junk is one of the worst names possible for a pitcher. But with that being said, it will be interesting to see how the No. 22 prospect in the Angels system fares in his Major League debut.

Junk was acquired from the New York Yankees as part of the deal that sent Andrew Heaney to the Bronx. He’s had a solid showing in AA this year, sporting a 6-3 record and a 2.81 ERA.

Taylor Hearn gets the start for the Rangers, and he’s been one of their most consistent pitchers this season. He enters the game with a 3.96 ERA, and there’s no reason why he can’t have another solid game today against this Angels lineup.
