The Houston Astros have the AL West wrapped up and won at home yesterday against the Los Angeles Angels. Houston leads the season series 12-5 and tonight is the penultimate game of the season between these two teams.

Luckily for Houston, it will be the last time they have to face Shohei Ohtani the pitcher as he makes the start tonight. Jose Urquidy takes the mound for the Astros tonight.

Angels vs. Astros Prediction and Pick

The Astros may have won last night, but Mike Trout was the story. Trout has homered in five straight games now after hitting a bomb over the left field wall last night. This hasn’t been one of Trout’s best seasons, but this recent hot streak has begun to elevate his numbers in line with his career standard. Trout has a .985 OPS, 33 homers and 64 RBI. The last number is an indicator of how bad the rest of the team has been around him.

The Angels have never been able to put anything around their two superstars and today will be a microcosm of that. Ohtani will pitch well and Trout might even hit another home run, but they have to be perfect for the team to win any games.

I think today they will be. Ohtani is 11-8 with a 2.58 ERA on the mound. He has a 1.09 ERA against Houston in 24 innings pitched this season, one of his best numbers against any team. Ohtani and Trout will carry the Angels to a win today.

Pick: Angels +118
