Angels vs. Athletics Prediction and Odds for Sunday, May 15 (Back Angels at a Discount)
By Joe Summers
The 15-21 Oakland Athletics aim for a series split as they host the 23-13 Los Angeles Angels today at 4:07 p.m. EST.
Oakland's offense has been among the league's worst all season and things won't get easier against Patrick Sandoval in this one. Sandoval sports a 2.03 ERA over five starts and has yet to surrender more than three runs in a single outing this season.
But the A's have one of their best pitchers going today in Frankie Montas, who has a quality start in four of his last six games. He has a 2.30 ERA in 13 career appearances against the Angels and hasn't allowed a run in his last 14 innings against them.
Can Montas continue his hot streak against Los Angeles or will the Angels' offense prove to be too much?
Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to help answer those questions and find some value in this Angels vs Athletics series finale:

Angels vs Athletics Prediction and Pick
Frankie Montas has enjoyed a lot of success against the Angels in his career, but this is a much better Los Angeles squad than he's ever faced. They're second in MLB in OPS against right-handed pitchers and are averaging 6.18 runs per game over their last 11.
In his last start, Montas gave up four runs on seven hits against the lowly Tigers. The Angels are so much better than Detroit that it's almost like they're playing a different sport, and even four runs may be too much for Oakland's pathetic offense to overcome.
The Athletics have just five runs total in the first three games of this series and they're dead last in the league in OPS during May.
Patrick Sandoval has fallen off from his incredible start, but he still hasn't given up more than three runs in a start on the year and is more than capable of shutting Oakland down.
Give me the Angels to improve to 9-3 over their last dozen as they earn a series win over their divisional foe.
Pick: Angels (-120)
