In stunning 10th-inning fashion, the Angels started off their series against the Mariners with a win. After blowing a late lead, I surely thought they’d find a way to lose, but here they are – the day after with a win.

Today, they’ll have two chances to capitalize on last night’s win, as they’ll face the Mariners in a double-header. Who will come out on top as we get ready to play two?

Angels vs. Mariners Prediction and Odds

The Angels still haven’t announced who will be on the opposite side of Chris Flexen, but guess what? It doesn’t matter to me. I’m backing Chris Flexen in Game 1.

Seattle has won his last seven starts and Flexen has been great in those games. He’s given up less than two runs a start in his last seven starts. The Angels have been an automatic fade all year long because of their propensity to strike out. If you combine their struggles with Flexen’s dominance, you’re bound to get a big win by Seattle.

The second game won’t be as lopsided, but I still expect the Mariners to be in control. George Kirby has recovered nicely from his rocking against the Orioles at the start of July. Since giving up 7 runs in four innings, Kirby has given up just five runs.

The Angels are top 10 in strikeouts over the last 30 days and have the fifth-worst OPS in the majors.

There’s two games and two good pitchers on the mound for the Mariners, so we can fade the Angels twice today.

Pick: Game 1 Mariners -1.5 (+105)/Game 2 Mariners ML -150
