Can someone go round up Danny Glover, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Christopher Lloyd to inject some life in the Los Angeles Angels, please?

The Halos have now dropped eight straight games, nine of their last 10, and are in a tailspin further and further out of the AL West standings behind the Houston Astros; now 6.5 games back of first.

Perhaps the break they desperately need is in the City of Brotherly Love, as they head to Philadelphia to begin a three game set with the struggling Phillies; now 22-29; 12.5 games back of first in the NL East. They also just relieved manager Joe Girardi of his duties.

22-year old right-hander Chase Silseth gets the start for the Angels, while the Phillies have yet to name their starting pitcher as of this writing.

Angels vs. Phillies Prediction and Pick

After a washout Wednesday in New York, the Angels completed a doubleheader in The Bronx Thursday before getting back on the road into Philadelphia. Their once dominant offense has gone flat; scoring three runs or fewer in five of their last seven games.

Meanwhile, the Phillies ended their five game skid, including three straight losses in extra innings with a one-run win of their own to grab one of three at home against the San Francisco Giants. After making yet another mess; giving up a 5-spot to San Francisco up 2-0 in the sixth, Philadelphia responded with a four-run inning to take back the lead with home runs from Nick Maton and Kyle Schwarber of Jarlin Garcia.

Now that they're off the schneid with something to feel good about, I expect the Phillies to get their offense reved up against Silseth, who despite solid numbers, has failed to go more than 4.1 innings in his last two starts. Despite an impressive 3.07 ERA, the 22-year old's Fielder Independent Pitching is 4.98, hinting that some regression is on the way.

Until the Angels start to hit and drive in runs consistently again, they're simply not a trustworthy wager right now.

LEAN: Phillies ML -125
