The 2-6 Texas Rangers hope to salvage a series split as they take on the 5-4 Los Angeles Angels at 2:35 PM EST today.

Texas won the first two game of the series before dropping the last two and will send Martín Pérez to the mound in the series conclusion. Pérez gave up seven hits and three runs in four innings in a loss to Colorado in his first outing but has a 3.90 career ERA against the Angels.

Los Angeles will counter with José Suarez, who held the Astros to two runs over 4.1 innings last week and hopes to build off a 3.75 ERA in 2021.

Can the Angels stay hot to win their fifth game in six tries or will the Rangers rebound to split the series?

Here are the odds from WynnBET as we look for value in this Angels vs Rangers matchup:

Angels vs Rangers Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line:

  • Angels: -1.5 (+135)
  • Rangers: +1.5 (-165)

Moneyline:

  • Angels -115
  • Rangers: +105

Total:

  • 9.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Angels vs Rangers Prediction and Pick

The Angels' offense has finally woken up. They're averaging seven runs per game in this series and get a tasty matchup against Pérez today. This is hardly the profile of an elite starter:

Suarez, on the other hand, had an excellent close to 2021 and has a lot of promise as a young gun that limits hard contact. In his final eight starts of last season, he allowed more than three runs just once and surrendered just one run in a complete game victory against the Rangers in that stretch.

Texas has an excellent offense, but they have the league's worst bullpen to this point and with a disadvantage in the starting pitching matchup, I expect the Angels to score a ton in this one.

Seven different Los Angeles batters have above average hard hit percentages and I don't think the Rangers' pitching staff can slow them down. We're getting sensational value on the Angels, who I project closer to -135.

Pick: Angels ML -115
