The New York Yankees hope to stay hot as they host the Los Angeles Angels in the final game of a three-game series tonight at 7:05 p.m. EST.

Entering last night's contest, the Angels had lost six straight as their pitching staff is struggling mightily. Shohei Ohtani is tasked with righting the ship and hopes to rebound from a poor performance against Toronto in which he surrendered five runs in six innings. On the year, Ohtani has a 3.45 ERA and had a quality start in three straight prior to the Blue Jays loss.

Jameson Taillon will oppose Ohtani and looks to build off a stellar May in which he compiled a 4-0 record and 2.01 ERA. He threw eight shutout innings against the Rays in his last start and has allowed three or fewer runs in all nine outings.

Can Taillon continue his hot streak or will Ohtani and Los Angeles secure a much-needed road victory?

Angels vs Yankees Prediction and Pick

I had to triple check my screen when I saw it, but the vaunted Yankees have the worst OPS in MLB against right-handed pitchers in the last two weeks. We're shown the booming home run highlights, but in between those explosive at-bats New York is enduring a terrible stretch offensively.

In his last three road starts, Shohei Ohtani has a 0.95 ERA. He's in the 97th percentile in strikeout percentage and should do his part in limiting the Yankees' run-scoring opportunities.

But Jameson Taillon should do the same against the Angels. He's given up just one run in his last 15 innings and surrendered only one home run in his last six starts. By limiting hard contact and ranking in the 98th percentile in walk rate, Taillon is nearly impossible to score on.

Because we've got a high-class pitching matchup, I love the under. Ohtani has gone at least six innings in four consecutive appearances and Taillon has pitched seven and eight innings over his last two starts. Each pitcher will eat up innings, putting limited pressure on the bullpens and helping our cause.

Back the under as New York's offense continues to struggle and Taillon remains one of the most consistent starters in MLB.

Pick: Under 7.5 (-115)
