Creighton is desparate for a win after losing four straight to fall to 6-4, most recently against BYU in the final seconds in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Bluejays Stayed in Las Vegas as they now face Arizona State on Monday night in a must win situation to get back on track. Creighton didn't have big man Ryan Kalkkbrenner on Saturday and his status is in doubt for this one. Can the Bluejays find a way to knock off an upstart Arizona State team that is a surprising 9-1 this season?

The Sun Devils have wins on a neutral court against Michigan and a come from behind win against Colorado on the road. Besides that, they haven't been as challenged as the Bluejays? How should this impact the point spread and is there an edge to make a bet?

Creighton vs. Arizona State Prediction and Pick

Let's start with last season's meeting, where a dismal Arizona State team beat Creighton in Omaha, 58-57. The Sun Devils heavy ball pressure defense forced 14 turnovers and won a slog of a game.

Surely, Ryan Nembhard, who had six turnovers in the loss, will be out for a better performance, but he may not have his pick-and-roll partner in Kalkbrenner, who is a fine finisher and also handful to score on in the paint.

Arizona State's defense has been as suffocating as ever under Bobby Hurley, holding foes to the fourth lowest effective field goal percentage, but this is a bit exaggerated with ShotQuality ranking them as the 145th ranked defense this season. Despite their 9-1 record, SQ has their shot profile profiling as a 6-4 team instead.

The opposite is true for Creighton, who can't buy a jump shot lately, the team is still a top 10 team, per ShotQuality, and can be due for a bit of positive regression even without Kalkbrenner.

Creighton was -10.5 against BYU on Saturday and while Arizona State is a better team than the Cougars, this line is an overreaction. I'll catch the Bluejays at a cheap price.
