Arkansas vs. Auburn Prediction and Odds for June 21 (Jell-O Shots and Stomach Bug Make for Fun SEC Game in Omaha)

Auburn eliminated the top seed at the CWS with their 6-2 win over Stanford on Monday.

They now face Arkansas, who was sent to the losers' bracket by Ole Miss. The winner of this one earns the right to a rematch with Mississippi for a right to go to the Final. 

These two teams last faced off May 6-8 in a three game series, with the Razorbacks winning two out of three.

Not only did the Auburn Tigers defeat the No. 2 team in the nation in Stanford, and stay alive for a shot at the National Championship, but they did it with the stomach bug.

Second-baseman Cole Foster had to be removed from Saturday’s game against Ole Miss due to dehydration, fell to his hands and knees after hitting a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning Monday. 

This team is clearly exhausted, but also clearly resilient as their coach, Butch Thompson, in an interview after the game said he had, “seven or eight guys on the toilet too much and not feeling well from a tough week.” 

It appears the food in Omaha has gotten to the Tigers, but I can’t think of a more fitting ailment for a baseball team than the runs. In solidarity with Auburn, I’ve written this prediction from the toilet myself. 

The most impressive feat and perhaps most important competition in Omaha is not taking place on the field, but at Rocco’s Pizza and Catina. The restaurant holds a yearly Jell-O Shot Challenge for fans of the teams at the College World Series. Arkansas fans have absolutely shattered the record previously held by Mississippi State. The latest report is that Razorbacks fans have crushed 5,644 Jell-O Shots to pace the field and shatter Mississippi State’s mark of 2,968. 

This is a tough pick for me because I'm tempted to ride with the team that has clogged half the toilets in Nebraska, but I’m a man that loves insane traditions and wild competitions. I found my way to Brat Fest in Madison, Wisconsin this year to try to help break the world record for most brats consumed. My family also does a Jell-O shot egg hunt on Easter. I’m enamored with this Jell-O Shot Challenge and might fly to Omaha to get in on the act.
