Army vs. Duke Prediction and Odds: Back Blue Devils with Confidence
By Reed Wallach
The Paolo Banchero era began with a bang on Tuesday night for Duke as the projected No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 79-71 win over No. 10 Kentucky.
Now the team heads to Cameron Indoor Stadium to host Army, can the team follow it up and cover a big spread?
Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook.
Army vs. Duke Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
- Army: +25.5 (-110)
- Duke: -25.5 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Army: N/A
- Duke: N/A
Total: 143 (Over -110/Under -110)
Army vs. Duke Pick and Prediction
Duke looked fantastic in the win over Kentucky, a complete effort on both sides to knock off the Wildcats.
What stood out to me was the team's ball security, only nine turnovers, and interior defense, allowing Kentucky to shoot just 37% from the field. With that in mind, the team couldn't get going from deep, hitting just one of their 13 attempts from deep.
However, they now will be able to get on track from beyond the arc against Army. The Black Knights will not have the size and speed to keep up with the likes of Banchero, Trevor Keels, and Wendell Moore on the perimeter. There should be plenty of open looks for Duke all game.
For Army's offense, the team relied on being elite from mid-range, 33rd in two-point field goal percentage last season, but will not be able to get clean looks against the length of Duke.
This feels like a great spot for the Blue Devils to hang a big number on an inferior opponent in front of a raucous Cameron Indoor crowd.
You can lay the points with Duke with confidence.
PICK: Duke -25.5 (-110)
