Former Liverpool standout and current Ashton Villa manager Steven Gerrard will take on his former club today at 3:00 PM EST in a critical Premier League matchup.

Liverpool's chances to win the EPL suffered a huge blow with a draw against Tottenham, as they now find themselves three points behind Manchester City with three games to play.

Ashton Villa hasn't lost in three straight fixtures and has won two straight. Can the hosts pull off a massive upset, or will Liverpool get back on track with a victory?

Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to help answer those questions ahead of this Ashton Villa vs Liverpool Premier League matchup:

Ashton Villa vs Liverpool Prediction and Pick

Liverpool is trying to become the first squad in English history to win the quadruple, but they're now hefty underdogs to Manchester City after failing to secure three points against Tottenham. They can still pull it off, but they'll likely need to win all three of their remaining matches and hope the Cityzens slip up.

So we'll see a fully engaged effort from the Reds in this one. Today's matchup also serves as a revenge spot for Liverpool, as they got demolished the last time they played at Ashton Villa. In that game, Ashton Villa smoked the visitors 7-2 and sent them home humiliated.

Mo Salah and the Reds aim to create a similar humiliation for the home team today. But Ashton Villa has been stout of late, winning their last two games by a combined score of 5-1 and allowing just one goal total in their previous three.

Not to be outdone, Liverpool has been fantastic defensively of late as well. They've allowed only three goals in their last five matches as the under has gone 4-1 in that stretch. The under has hit in two of the last three Ashton Villa fixtures as well, and I expect those trends to continue today.

Ashton Villa will be happy with a draw, and I think they'll pack the line defensively to try to slow Salah and Liverpool's dominant attack down. The Reds should earn the win here, but it's going to be more difficult than they'd hoped. Give me the under at plus money to improve to 5-1 in Liverpool's last six.

Pick: Under 2.5 Goals (+130)
