The Oakland Athletics host the Houston Astros today at 3:37 p.m. EST in the final matchup of a three-game series.

Cole Irvin will pitch for Oakland coming off three consecutive quality starts. He's been dominant at home, compiling a 1.61 ERA in four outings.

On the other side will be Cy Young candidate Justin Verlander, who got slammed for six runs and 10 hits over six innings against Seattle but has been tremendous otherwise. In total, he has a 6-2 record and 2.03 ERA.

Can Verlander bounce back and give Houston a road win or will Irvin and the Athletics emerge victorious?

Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook as we find some value in this Astros vs Athletics matchup:

Astros vs Athletics Prediction and Pick

I'm willing to chalk Justin Verlander's last start up to just being a bad day. He gave up four home runs to an average-at-best Mariners lineup after only surrendering four all season before that. Oakland's lineup ranked dead-last in OPS against right-handed pitchers in May, so if he struggles against the A's then we may have an issue.

I don't think he will, though. Entering yesterday's game, the Athletics were 1-12 in their last 13 as a home underdog, averaging a pathetic 2.38 runs per game in that stretch.

But Cole Irvin has been pretty great too, especially at home. With a 1.61 ERA at the Coliseum, Irvin has the ability to shut down an Astros lineup that's struggled to produce over the last two weeks.

As a result, I'm a bit worried about taking Houston on the run line. Instead, I'll roll with the most reliable bet in baseball: the under in Astros' games.

Entering last night, the under was 11-1 in Houston's last dozen contests and a remarkable 37-12 on the year. It's 4-1 in Irvin's last five starts and 7-1-1 when Verlander pitches.

Trust those trends to continue as Irvin continues his stellar play at home and Verlander bounces back against the worst lineup in the majors.

Pick: Under 7.0 (-120)
