Astros vs. Red Sox Prediction and Odds for ALCS Game 3
By Peter Dewey
The Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox are tied at one game apiece in the ALCS as the series shifts back to Boston.
Boston put together a strong performance offensively in Game 2, tallying nine runs to even the series. The Red Sox have crept a big closer in the latest series odds for the ALCS, sitting at +100.
Boston will send lefty Eduardo Rodriguez to the mound in Game 3 while Jose Urquidy toes the rubber for the Astros. With Lance McCullers out for the ALCS, the Astros’ starting staff is a bit thin.

Red Sox vs. Astros Prediction and Pick
Boston is undefeated at home this postseason, and I think it will keep things that way against the Astros in Game 3.
Boston was significantly better at home this season (49-32) than on the road (43-38) and it seems that Fenway Park is where every American League team’s playoff hopes go to die this season.
Boston has played some close games, particularly against the Tampa Bay Rays, this postseason so I’m just going to back it on the moneyline at -113.
Urquidy was slightly worse on the road this season, as opponents hit .229 against him compared to .206 at home. Rodriguez, who struggled in 2021, was actually worse at home, but he was much improved in the playoffs, tossing five innings of three-hit, two-run ball against Tampa Bay in Game 4.
I think Boston takes Game 3, and if you believe they’ll stay hot at home, taking Boston at +100 to win the series isn’t a bad idea either.
