Athletics vs. Giants Prediction and Odds for Tuesday, April 26 (Athletics' Pathetic Offense Gives Them No Chance)
By Joe Summers
The 12-5 San Francisco Giants have won four straight as they host the 9-8 Oakland Athletics tonight at 9:45 PM EST in the first game of a two-game set.
Oakland has lost two of three behind a lifeless offense, scoring only three runs total in their last three games. They'll aim to bounce back against Giants starter Carlos Rodón, who has picked right up where he left off after a stellar 2021. He has a 1.06 ERA through three starts and once again looks like one of the best arms in baseball.
Daulton Jeffries gets the call for the Athletics. Jeffries is a 26-year-old former second round pick and has dazzled in his first three starts, allowing only two earned runs in over 15 innings of work thus far.
San Francisco is playing their 12th game in 12 days - can Oakland catch them in a bad spot or will the Giants keep rolling?

Athletics vs Giants Prediction and Pick
Look, this is a game of two teams going in opposite directions. Oakland's offense is baaad right now. After a torrid start to the year, the wheels are starting to fall off. They're averaging 1.83 runs per game in the last week and now get to take on an elite pitcher at the height of his powers.
Just look at Carlos Rodón's pitching profile from Baseball Savant so far:
Yeah, that's downright ridiculous. He hasn't allowed more than three hits in any of his last six starts dating back to last season. Opposing this monster will be Daulton Jeffries, who has impressed early on but may be overmatched against an elite Giants offense.
Jeffries does a fantastic job limiting walks and getting himself out of trouble, but his pitching profile paints a picture of someone that's due for a poor outing. Take a gander:
San Francisco averages the third-most runs per game in the league and I expect them to take care of business against the youngster today. Give me the Giants on the run line as Rodón continues his incredible start.
Pick: Giants -1.5 (-115)
