The 2022 Iron Bowl may not have the luster as most years do with neither team playing for much but pride.

It's still one of the biggest rivalry games in college football with Alabama traveling to face Auburn and the Crimson Tide looking to make it more routine than it did last year when it needed a game tying touchdown drive in the final two minutes to beat Auburn in overtime.

This year, Auburn is shorthanded once again, but the Crimson Tide aren't playing for an SEC Championship berth or College Football Playoff appearance, can the Tigers cover again?

Here are the odds:

Auburn vs. Alabama Odds, Spread and Total

Auburn vs. Alabama Betting Trends

  • Alabama hasn't covered in three straight games
  • Auburn has covered three straight games and four of their last five
  • Alabama has gone UNDER in seven of 11 games
  • Auburn has gone OVER in five of six games as an underdog

Auburn vs. Alabama Prediction and Pick

Getting over three touchdowns is interesting with an Auburn team that has been revived against interim coach Cadaliac Williams. The team has won three straight games and has played hard despite being woefully undermanned.

Meanwhile, there is no denying the talent edge on the Crimson Tide side, but the team struggled to pull away from a run-first Ole Miss team on the road as double digit favorites and the team's inability to stretch the field has been apparent.

Alabama may have one of the top quarterback prospects in the country in Bryce Young, but the team is lacking in terms of high level pass catchers, the team is 64th in explosive pass rate. As well, the offensive line continues to be a concern, the team is outside the top 100 in offenisve line yards this season.

Auburn is top 50 against explosive pass and the secondary has limited opposing quarterbacks to 57% completion percentage, the 24th best mark in the country. I think we see another spirited effort and cover from Auburn.
