After a pair of tight games, we will settle the Corvallis Super Regional on Monday night.

Two powerhouses settle their best of three series with Oregon State hosting Auburn. After a 4-3 victory on Sunday night, the Beavers have last licks in hopes of punching their ticket to the College World Series. With pitching questions on both sides, where is the betting value in the final meeting?

Here are the odds for Game 3:

Auburn vs. Oregon State Odds, Run Line, Total

Run Line:

  • Auburn: +1.5 (-148)
  • Oregon State: -1.5 (+120)

Moneyline:

  • Auburn: +130
  • Oregon State: -160

Total: 11.5 (Over +100/Under -122)

Auburn vs. Oregon State Prediction and Pick

Both teams sent their aces out for Game 2 and got strong outings, but it was Oregon State's Cooper Hjerpe, who stole the show, tossing 6 innings of 2 run baseball. After missing his scheduled start on Friday and putting the Beavers down 1-0, he responded by getting this to a deciding third game.

We'll see if he'll be available to close out the Super Regional like he did to Vanderbilt in the Regionals, but for now it's likely going to be Jacob Kmatz (4.19 ERA) to start for the Beavers. While he is not a strikeout threat, less than eight strikeouts per nine innings, he has strong command with only 2.3 walks per nine. Auburn's bats were humming in the Regionals but have been more subdued in this series, we'll see if they come alive against the weaker part of the Beavers pen.

Auburn's pitching staff has been getting by all season long, the team has a FIP of 5.09 on the year and has struggled with walks all season long, walking 3.6 batters per nine innings. While Oregon State has power in the lineup like Jacob Melton, this team is elite as a unit at getting on base, posting the second most walks this season (worth noting they have played as many games as any team in the country) and are 18th in on-base percentage.

Auburn's Game 3 starter will likely be Mason Barnett, who is able to strike batters out (11.8 per nine) but also struggles with his control, walking more than four batters per nine innings.

I lean Oregon State but this game should be tight similar to the other two meetings this weekend. I instead like the over with the chance for runs to break out in a big way.

LEAN: Oregon State ML, OVER 11.5
