Avalanche vs. Blues Prediction and Odds: St. Louis Takes Its First Loss to Colorado
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Colorado Avalanche (2-4-0) started the season as one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup, which they still are, +550 on WynnBET Sportsbook, but they have struggled to find consistency early on. Colorado’s power play is an example of where they could find more success, connecting on just nine percent of opportunities with the man advantage.
Darcy Kuemper (2-3-0, 3.22 GAA, .900 SV%) is the expected netminder for the Avalanche. Kuemper played well on Tuesday, stopping 26 of 28 shots he faced, but took a loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.
The St. Louis Blues (5-0-0) started their undefeated run this season by defeating Colorado, 5-3, on Oct. 16.
Jordan Binnington (4-0-0, 2.75 GAA, .919 SV%) should be in the crease for the Blues tonight. Binnington allowed three goals to the Kings in his last appearance, but was backed by a strong offense that netted seven goals.

Avalanche vs. Blues Odds and Total
Moneyline:
- Avalanche -120

Total: 6 (Over -115/Under -105)
Avalanche vs. Blues Prediction and Pick
The undefeated Blues will be down a few important pieces tonight in center Ryan O’Reilly and left wing Brandon Saad. St. Louis will need veterans Tyler Bozak and James Neal to step up in their stead.
Not having O’Reilly is bad for the Blues power play, which is currently firing at 37.5 percent. The Avalanche’s power play currently has a success rate of just nine percent, which should positively regress to the mean, while St. Louis’ power play should also fall soon from its explosive rate.
Colorado will end the Blues undefeated run tonight.
I’m taking the Avs on the moneyline at -120 and the puck line at -1.5 (+190).
