Avalanche vs. Golden Knights Prediction and Odds (AVS Keep Rolling on the Road)
By Matt De Saro
The Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Colorado Avalanche, two of the best teams in the Western Conference, are set to face off tonight at the T-Mobile Arena. This will be the rubber match between these two rivals after splitting games so far this season. The Avalanche beat the Knights 2-0 in their most recent match. The Avs are coming off a hard-fought win over the Winnipeg Jets last night. While they could be a bit fatigued after battling hard into the night, they are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and have a ton of momentum at their backs.
The Golden Knights are also coming into tonight after playing last night but the results weren’t as positive. They were beaten by the Arizona Coyotes 3-1 and are now 4-4-2 in their last 10 games. While still a tough team for any team, the Knights do appear to be falling off the pace over the last two weeks. Can they rebound tonight or will the Avs win two in a row over Vegas? Here are the odds for tonight’s Western Conference matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Avalanche vs. Golden Knights Prediction and Pick
The first thing about this game that jumps off the page is the starting goaltenders for the evening. Not so much on the Avs side of things, but rather the Golden Knights and their rookie goalie Logan Thompson. The first-year goaltender has a good chance to start this game after with Robin Lehner out with a torn labrum and Laurant Brossiot coming off a late-night between the pipes. It would be Thompson's second career game after posting' a .935 save percentage in his first two. Brossoit could be called upon again but his .901 save percentage and +4.7 saves are above expected. Vegas is also dealing with a myriad of other injuries and will be without Mark Stone, Alec Marinez, and Nolan Patrick. Additionally, both Jonathan Marchessault and Dylan Coghlan missed the last game due to illness.
Meanwhile, the Avalanche has the league’s best overall record and their deep roster is at full health. Their offense has become a well-oiled machine with multiple players averaging at least one point per game. Because of this, the Avs are the second-highest scoring team in the league. One area for concern had been Darcy Kumper between the pipes after starting off terribly. Since then, he has begun to turn things around and ranks in the top 10 in goalie saves above expected with a save percentage of .919.
This would be a great game if the Knights were healthy. But, since they are not, I have to side with the Avalanche who are hot and healthy.
Pick: Avalanche -1.5 (+155)
