Avalanche vs. Kraken Prediction and Odds: Back Colorado on the Road
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Colorado Avalanche were a favorite to win the Stanley Cup, and even though they have played slightly under expectations, and playing without center Nathan McKinnon, they appear to be turning a corner.
The Avalanche have won three consecutive games, extending their modest winning streak with a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. With back-to-back three point nights, center Nazem Kadri now leads Colorado with 17 points in 13 games.
The Seattle Kraken are still struggling to get a footing as the NHL’s newest franchise. The Kraken are just 4-11-1 this season and have lost five straight games coming into tonights’ matchup.
The bright side for the Kraken may be Jordan Eberle. The 31-year old right wing may have found his old scoring touch that he left behind back in his Edmonton Oilers days. Eberle leads Seattle with eight goals this season.

Avalanche vs. Kraken Prediction and Pick
The Kraken have been struggling to score goals, averaging just 2.8 goals per contest, 18th in the NHL. On top of that, they have failed to keep the puck out of their own net, allowing 3.7 goals per game, which is 31st in the NHL.
In their current five game losing streak, Seattle failed to defeat the Arizona Coyotes and the Chicago Blackhawks, two teams fighting to pick up any wins at all, so the Kraken will have their hands full tonight.
Colorado goaltender Darcy Kuemper has allowed no more than two goals in each of his last three appearances, being a brick wall between the pipes. Kraken goalie Philipp Grubauer has been a brick of swiss cheese, allowing three or more goals in each of his last four appearances; twice allowing five goals.
The Avalanche should take down their new Western Conference foes tonight, and I’ll take that value on the puck line.
Pick: Avalanche -1.5 (+170)
