Now add 23-year old superstar into the equation. How in the world are you supposed to complete against THAT lineup?
The Padres, according to ESPN's Buster Olney are reported to be the frontrunner to landing this year's Run Derby champion in a deal ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline. Soto is expected to fetch a king's ransom in return for Washington with three years left on his rookie contract in Washington.
As of Thursday morning, some rival executives perceive the Padres to be the frontrunner to land Juan Soto.

The Nationals are reportedly looking to move Soto at maximum value after reportedly turning down a 15-year contract extension worth more than $440 million total.

Fangraphs' playoff odds have San Diego at 84.9% to make the playoffs, and still give it a sliver of hope to catch up to the Dodgers at 1.9% to win the NL West.
San Diego's odds will soar if it ends up with Soto, so if you're willing to buy low now, the final outcome could be massive if the favorites come through to land him in a deal.
