Two Big 12 heavyweights duke it on on Wednesday night when Baylor travels to Lubbock, Texas to face the Red Raiders of Texas Tech.

Both teams are brutes on defense, each inside KenPom's top 20 in defensive efficiency, and they each have injury concerns. TTU won at Baylor earlier this season as double digit underdogs, can they make it a season sweep?

Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Baylor vs. Texas Tech Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Baylor +2 (-110)
  • Texas Tech -2 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Baylor +115
  • Texas Tech -135

Total: 136 (Over -110/Under -110)

Baylor vs. Texas Tech Prediction and Pick

I'm going to be siding with the Red Raiders here, the team is simply too good at home, going 12-3 against the spread (ATS) at United Supermarkets Arena this season.

While Baylor is the defending National Champions and can match Texas Tech on the defensive side, the team is extremely banged up, now down to about a seven man rotation. Jonathan Tchamwa suffered a season ending knee injury over the weekend, putting Scott Drew down his best rebounder, and the team still waits for guard LJ Cryer to come back from injury.

The Red Raiders have some injury concerns with Kevin McCullar, and the team is not as potent as the Baylor offense, but they are an elite offensive rebounding team and get to the free throw line a ton. Both teams know each other well, but I believe that Tech is going to get the boost from the home crowd and a softer Baylor interior.

Texas Tech does most of their work inside, generating the second most points in Big 12 play from two-point range while the Bears are allowing the second highest. Now they are down one of their key big man, which can lead to a ton of issues against the Tech offense. The Red Raiders are 27th in near proximity field goal percentage, Baylor is 225th on the defensive side.

I like Tech to pull away late. The home cooking is enough to offset the revenge spot.

PICK: Texas Tech -2
